Mastering Metabolism To Lose Belly Fat and Healthy Weight Loss ~ Part 4

Now that we understand metabolism and that there is a fine line between Healthy weight loss, lose belly fat, caloric levels and those that will push the body into survival mode, it is time to consider what habits will best assist us in maintaining that balance.

1.    Eat
When it comes to trying to lose belly fat or healthy weight loss, there is more to eating well than trying to cut calories.  You must be certain to eat enough to keep your metabolism working at top speeds.  You might use the one thousand calorie mark as a general lower limit on daily caloric intake.

2.    Eat Frequently
It is necessary to get the necessary calories without overloading the system as well.  This often means breaking up meals and eating them throughout the day rather than in three large portions.  This prevents the body taking in more than it can absorb, which could result in vitamins and nutrients not being absorbed.  It also prevents the metabolism from slowing between meals.

3.    Eat Breakfast
Just as you want to prevent a metabolism slow down between meals, you also want to give it a kick start in the morning.  Overnight, the body is deprived of food, so breakfast is essential for kicking the metabolism into gear for the rest of the day.

Allowing yourself a few extra minutes in the morning can make a huge difference in your day.  Rather than grabbing a quick pop-tart for the kids and nothing for yourself, take those extra ten minutes to lay out some fruit, scramble some eggs, or even make a quick protein shake.  The kids will love it and all of you will fare better – mentally and physically – for doing it.

4.     Eat More Protein
Already discussed in a previous section, the benefits of protein are undeniable.  Plus, these type of food is more difficult to break down than others, so the metabolism will be force to use more energy to break the food down.  Protein is also a hunger-buster, which means that meals loaded with protein will keep you fuller longer.

5.     Eat More Fiber
Just as with the protein, the metabolism expends more energy to break fiber down.  Therefore, it is possible to eat a fibrous food and actually burn calories instead of gaining them.  Plus, fiber is essential for proper digestion.
